The Great Elephant Census, led by Paul Allen's company Vulcan, was the first pan-African survey of elephant populations in more than 40 years.
The Work
Solertium worked with Vulcan and our partners at the IUCN African Elephant Specialist Group to integrate the Great Elephant Census's findings with the 2016 African Elephant Status Report.
Vulcan funded the creation of several new visualization tools to help IUCN scientists validate new range and population data, including GEC data, and integrate it into the body of knowledge about African Elephant populations.
