Nightjar Survey Network

The Project

The Nightjar Survey Network is a citizen science network which has been surveying and reporting on declining Nightjar populations for years. In 2012, Solertium developed a new web application for the Center for Conservation Biology to manage data submissions, membership, and route adoption.

The Work

The Nightjars site is implemented in Ruby on Rails, with map visualizations via Google Fusion Tables and the Google Maps V3 API. Content and layout is managed in WordPress and connected to the Rails site using the cloud_assets gem released by Solertium CTO Rob Heittman.
